One study asked why people were giving their dog to the shelter. The answers:
Hyperactivity- 45%
Barking- 41%
Chewing- 24%

If both these figures are correct, OVER ONE MILLION US dogs are killed every year due to behaviors linked to lack of exercise or boredom.
